Your licence can be suspended by the RMS due to accumulation of too many points, automatically for certain offences or by Police for certain offences.
In many cases you have the option to lodge an appeal against these forms of suspension so a court can hear reasons why your licence should not be suspended.
There are generally 3 potential outcomes that the court can come to:
Your appeal is successful and you won’t have your licence suspended;
Your appeal is refused but the suspension period is varied; or
Your appeal is refused and the full suspension period remains.
